Travel from Corfu to Athens aboard Running on Waves on an eight-day voyage through the Ionian Sea and around the Peloponnese.
The route connects Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Katakolo, Pylos, Gytheio and Nafplion, bringing together some of Greece’s most distinctive island and mainland landscapes. Along the way, guests encounter underground lakes and sea caves, clear-water bays, ancient archaeological sites, fortified harbours and historic coastal towns.
Each destination reveals a different part of Greek history and culture. Explore the natural wonders of Kefalonia, swim along the protected coastline of Zakynthos, visit Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, and discover the myths and fortresses surrounding Pylos. Further south, the stone landscapes of Mani lead towards Gytheio, while Nafplion introduces one of Greece’s most atmospheric old towns.
Between destinations, guests can swim directly from the ship, snorkel, kayak, windsurf or relax in the Jacuzzi as Running on Waves continues along the coast. Mornings may begin with breakfast on deck beside a new island, while afternoons combine independent exploration, optional excursions and time in the water.
Full-board dining, spacious outdoor decks and a limited number of guests create a relaxed way to travel without separating the onboard experience from the destinations themselves. This cruise is suited to travellers who want to combine sailing, swimming, ancient history and changing Mediterranean landscapes, finishing the journey in Athens after crossing from the Ionian to the Aegean side of Greece.
