I have been on several bike and boat tours. This past week on the ship Running on Waves was certainly a cut above. The ship was immaculate, staff was over the top helpful and catered to everything we could possibly need. Our bike guide Alex was excellent and our rides beautiful, challenging and interesting. 5 + stars.

What an incredible trip! The team on board was fantastic — always thinking ahead and making everything smooth. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the cabins were super comfy and spotless.

We cycled 20–60 km a day, exploring stunning views of Greece — olive groves, crystal-clear sea, quiet roads, and amazing beaches you couldn’t reach on foot. Morning yoga helped stretch our muscles and get ready for the day.

The food was incredible — never the same twice, with choices between fish and meat, plus fresh berries, fruits, and treats. Highlights included lamb and langoustines. October was perfect — great weather, gorgeous nature, and peaceful towns. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves cycling, nature, and the sea!

Great way to explore Greece ! Our guide was local , so a lot of knowledge of best locations! All together the cruise was excellent! The crew, food, ship - everything was just amazing! Will recommend to anyone, who wants to explore sea and Greece that way!

I was incredibly impressed by the itinerary. Beautiful islands, a wonderful guide who shared such interesting facts about the sights, history, and archaeology.
He showed us the most interesting spots on the islands. And he planned the routes in a way that was comfortable for everyone—both for those who move a bit slower and for those who prefer a faster pace. The whole group was full of enthusiasm.

We covered between 20 and 60 kilometers every day. We had scenic coffee stops, went for swims, visited an olive museum, temples, and historical places—spots where the average tourist doesn't set foot, which was very important.

After that, we had a great time on the ship. The crew entertained us with various activities, like climbing the mast, culinary masterclasses, knot-tying workshops, ship exploration, a tour of the engine room, visit to the bridge.

We all became friends, exchanged phone numbers, and really hope to return again and again for new routes. It was absolutely fantastic!🤩 recommend to everyone!!

The perfect way to explore the Greek islands!
The instructor Alex was excellent with the great knowledge of e bikes and the routes troughs the amazing sceneries of the Greece islands.
The boutique boat “Running on waves” is unique and luxurious with amazing services. Food was “five stars” quality. Amazing experience overall. I would definitely do it again!

Our boat was beautiful and very comfortable with lots of gathering spaces, excellent food, friendly staff and guides. Our daily rides were well explained and designed with consideration of the groups abilities and interests.
All in all though it was the people taking care of us that made the difference. Each one appeared to be looking for ways to help or support our experience.
We had an excellent experience and would be very happy to repeat the trip.

I am fairly new to organized tours and of course to boat and bike tours. This trip has introduced me to a great way to see the world combined with my favorite sport-activity - biking and way to travel - by boat.... better still - sailing. The boat? 'Running on Waves' as was evident in the tour photos, is 1st class machine and piece of art and way to travel from port to port. a joy to spend a week on! The Crew? Since arriving at the check in and greeted by Leena and her energy - I've felt like the crew had one focus the entire tour. The guests. They all know their role and made us feel welcome the entire week..... with a smile and true interest in their work. The food? Fueling a troop of hungry bikers 3 times a day is no task for the faint hearted. An extensive buffet and varied meal was always waiting for us. And as for the guided bike rides every day of the tour? Its Greece - and yes - lots of hills. I am a fairly serious road biker - but you may want to go electric. There's a lot to see in Greece above 400 m. Alex is a master at herding biking cats and keeping them happy safe and somewhat educated. He knows the terrain as well as local culture. Its not all biking - stops included an olive press location, Monastery, and Vineyard. From the options I've seen out there - this is a one of a kind tour you might not want to pass up.

The perfect trip. A combination of adventure, boating, biking and community - wonderful people, places and activity. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and genuinely friendly. The food was excellent. The bike trips educational as well as great exercise! I would take this trip again anytime.

The trip was a very special way to get to know Greece. The ship is comfortable, and the crew goes out of their way to ensure that guests are well looked after. Our bike guide was excellent. As a local, he knew his way around very well and took us on some particularly beautiful routes. He also gave us an insight into Greek culture and mentality. We would have liked to have had more days spent purely sailing, but that was probably due to the route planning (we often sailed in the evenings) and the weather.

From September 6th to 13th, I spent a wonderful week on the yacht Running on Waves. It was a wonderful, unforgettable vacation full of impressions, probably one of the most beautiful in my life. The yacht is beautiful, the cabins are comfortable, everything was very clean, and the organization of the cruise was impeccable. The cuisine was excellent, the breakfasts and lunches delicious, and the dinners exquisite.
And the most wonderful thing is the people. I can't mention everyone's names, but absolutely every crew member, including the captain, deserves the highest praise. They all made us feel comfortable and safe there.

Running on Waves is a lovely ship/yacht, with great staff (very attentive) and very good food; I practically had to beg to leave a gratuity! The practical challenges were: 1. The size of the beds/rooms is not accurately represented on the websites. Rm 16 definitely not a king size bed. 2. The realities of small ship in the Cyclades (particularly during windy period end of Aug) is the captain often cannot predict the time/place of landing, even the next day. This means it is difficult to book excursions (such as guided tours or experiences). We landed on one island that we later found out had only 4 taxis, which made it challenging to get to our cooking class on the opposite end of the island. 3. There are no excursions offered by the cruise line, although the staff try (the night before) to give guidance on places to see. They also tried to organize some group tours, but weren't very good about communicating/organizing them.

Running on Waves far exceeded my expectations and we had the trip of a lifetime. The boat is absolutely beautiful and comfortable. My daughter and I were passengers of the “Running on Waves” ship in September 2025 sailing beautiful Greek islands. Every staff member is professional, committed, extremely friendly - meeting the expectations of all guests. Especially Lina - hotel manager. She worked all day every day to make sure everyone was having a wonderful experience. Also, a more than fantastic and accommodating all crew team, for sure would remember Aleksey - pirate looking gay and second officer in command after captain - Oleg. Meals - delicious and varied food, nicely served, buffet style. Professional waiter service. Cook did an excellent job. No complaints about food, except dinner at 8 pm – on my opinion, is very late, but otherwise food service is exceptional. Service is faultless, fast, efficient, and intuitive. Beach towels and water provided when going ashore. When you are coming back – wet towel for refreshening. Staff always ask if you need anything while they are passing by. The ship is in excellent condition, maintained in almost pedantic condition, and very clean. Captain Sergey - professional and friendly, as well as all other officers who provided a lot of interesting information during the cruise. I can recommend with a clear conscience for people who expect an intimate and pleasant atmosphere, high quality service and food, welcoming another beautiful Greek island every morning. The cruise ran in a very pleasant atmosphere and a feeling of complete safety. We had opportunities on this boat that you would never have on the big ships. Visiting these smaller islands, climbing the mast, and even jumping off the ship into the sea, watching sunrise and sunset. I could go on and on about Running on Waves. If you can book a sail on this incredible ship, please do it. You will not regret it. Many good memories of our vacation, especially the people we met on board (staff and guests). Unfortunately, there was one disappointment too. The first night before dinner the captain explained there were more wind changes in the forecast and presented two options to us via a map. He said we need to decide as a group what route to take. The red was where the extreme wind and the green was smooth sailing. We all voted for the green root except four passengers did not (mind you those 2 couples were on the sailboat the prior week). The captain said he would speak to the owner and get back to us. He came back and said we can still go for the second original route and see what happens, but it will be bumpy and update us the next night. There was no update the next night, however there were 5 people vomiting and they felt very sick. I have never been so sick in my life that I was so violently ill. My whole body was sore and spasming from everything coming out. I could not keep down any motion sickness pills or water. It was horrific to say the least. In my opinion either captain shouldn’t have said anything at all to passengers, or he should have taken the safer route (as he recommended) for everyone to be comfortable, because it was not fair to say majority wanted a green route, but we went in opposite way after all. Thanks God - storms pass, otherwise I would not survive.

Where do I begin. From the friendly staff that is always at your services to the great accommodations and five star food. This has been one of the best cruises we have ever taken. Memories for a lifetime.

Such an interesting trip I’ve ever had.
It was the cleanest cabin, especially I wanted to thanks cabin steward for an amazing smell, when you come back.
A lot of nice people there, a great food, management fantastic, everyone helpful and the hotel manager and cruise director, always were here around, with me.
Even when I asked them a lot of questions, they were helping me together.

This is a luxury sailing ship. The rooms are very nice and the bed was really comfortable. The staff was amazing and each and every one of them went out of their way to make our trip perfect. The food was also very good and I enjoyed that we all dined together. It was fabulous to be on the upper deck, wind in your hair, watching the sunset. Because of the small number of passengers we made new memories with new friends. I highly recommend this experience. Remember that this is a small ship cruise so they don't have the excursions and land tours like on the big cruise ships. We went to 8 islands. Some were easier to get around than others. The wifi on the ship was great so we were able to research the next day's island the night before. Be aware that taxis and ubers are very limited on the islands and that public transportation was not the most reliable.

Fabulous Island Tour

From first arrival the crew was amazing. They paid such great attention to everyone's wants, and needs. The ship is beautiful. Our cabin was adequate for 2 and very comfortable. The food was fabulous and the bartenders always ready to when called. Our itinerary was in flux due to weather but that was fine, we sailed off and had a blast. Each night we reviewed the next day activities. There were very few onboard organized activities, which is exactly what we had expected. The crew was absolutely amazing. They were always there to assist they were friendly, informative, snd you couldnt ask for better. If i could change anything it would be the strong gusting winds, which prevented using sail power more often. Can't fix that! Very pleased with this trip.

What an incredible experience aboard this beautiful and impeccably maintained boat!

The team was outstanding—professional, punctual, and always ready to assist. Each evening, they provided clear, high-quality briefings about our next destination, including must-see sights and fascinating local insights.

While I would have loved more time sailing, the weather had other plans—though I still got the thrilling chance to climb the mast platform twice! Another fantastic impression was the opportunity to ride brand-new Cannondale bicycles and explore hidden places of the islands, which was such a fun addition to the trip.

But the biggest highlight? I proposed to my beloved girlfriend on the “Running on Waves”—and she said yes! Now, we’re dreaming of chartering the entire boat for our wedding. It would be the perfect way to celebrate our love on the same stunning vessel where our journey began.

Peloponnese trip 

I recently went on a cruise aboard Running on Waves, a beautiful three-masted sailing ship, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We sailed all the way around the Peloponnese, and the route was absolutely stunning — full of breathtaking views and charming coastal towns.

The crew on board was exceptional: professional, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. The cabins were very comfortable, offering all the amenities we needed, and the food was excellent — delicious, varied, and beautifully presented.

One of the highlights for our family was how well the ship catered to children. The organized water games and activities kept them happy and entertained throughout the trip, giving the adults time to relax and enjoy the voyage as well.

All in all, Running on Waves exceeded our expectations. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, comfort, and hospitality. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking to explore Greece from a unique and magical perspective.

It has been a very special and authentic trip, the staff was very friendly, everyone looked after us very well, the waiter Angelo in particular made every meal great, the cooks gave us a very rich varied and balanced menu every day, like in the best hotels, the staff who accompanied us every day on the boats to the port were very careful, friendly and professional, the only thing is that we stopped at some islands less than we expected and we would have liked to be closer to the port although it was never a problem thanks to the speedboats, we also missed a place to dance and talk without the wind hitting us, we would also have liked to be able to dive more, overall great and very original, the cabin was fantastic.

Running On Waves-a magnificent choice for a memorable vacation

Running On Waves was a wonderful experience. My husband and I traveled with another couple, and all of us enjoyed it immensely. Everything was perfect: the ship, the setting, the service, the food. The crew was especially attentive and made us feel so welcome. We really enjoyed the biking excursions, and we could use the bikes as long (or as little) as we wanted on each island. I HIGHLY recommend Running On Waves!

We went on the first "bike & sail" cruise on Running on Waves and were excited! Lots of fun, excellent food, beautiful islands to discover. The crew was very friendly and experienced. Well-being is, I think, really the magic word here on board. I loved the whole ambience on the ship. Something was always being cleaned or polished somewhere. Even though the cabins are not too big (for two women with suitcases ;-)), they were super cosy and lovingly furnished with lots of little accessories. Feeling the wind around your nose on deck during the day, hearing the creaking of the set sails, experiencing the magnificent Greek islands and coastline by riding a bike together with the experienced guide, or maybe just sitting in the bubble pool and look over the calm Greek waters - it doesn't get any better than that. Big recommendation and a must-do for all Greece lovers!

Running on Waves is the perfect vessel for comfortable and romantic sailing trips. Its relatively small size (compared to classic cruise ships) creates a cozy, home-like atmosphere and a warm, friendly vibe. The crew does everything possible to make guests feel truly comfortable. Huge thanks to the ship’s “mom” Lina for her care, to Taya, Albert, Oleg, and Captain Yuri for their work. Special thanks to the amazing chef Rosie!

This was my first cruise and it was wonderful. The cabin was spacious and comfortable, the food excellent and the crew attentive and charming. I wanted a smaller experience to start and this was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble- especially Ms Lina, the restaurant/bar guys (Albert, Angel and Melvin) and the tender crew. It was a great way to experience some gorgeous Greek islands and I would highly recommend it.
My only disappointment was not being informed of boarding details and several events/ activities that I only found out about through other passengers. It was also unfortunate that credit card settlement of on board account was unavailable.

What an amazing experience.

The yacht is so beautiful and well-maintained. It felt more like a privately owned ship because it was so perfect. The sundeck was my favorite place to be and there were always fresh towels and blankets in case it was chilly.

The crew always went out of their way to make sure we were happy and well taken care of. My son, Max, is a very picky eater and all of the crew made sure he was well-fed and treated like royalty. Even if he wanted to eat when it wasn’t meal time, the crew made special dishes just for him. Lina is like a mother - always making sure everyone is warm, feed, and has water. Her warm welcome and morning greetings were sunshine during the day even when it was raining. Albert was extremely attentive and such a great host at meal time. Everything down to the laundry service is perfection.

Magical Experience

I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet mornings watching the sun rise over the islands and marveling at the crew readying the ship to enter the different ports. In addition, our Hotel Manager, Robert, went out of his way to ensure the guests expectations were met while focused on safety. As an example, we arrived back on the ship a few minutes before departure and we wanted to jump off the back of the boat for a refreshing dip in the Aegean Sea. Robert connected with the Captain to ask permission and then stayed with us to be sure we were back on the boat in a timely manner to ensure the crew could ready the boat for departure - priceless! This was the trip of a lifetime and we were so pleased with every aspect of the experience.

There were so many highlights it is hard to narrow it to three items. 1) Running on Waves staff/crew went out of their way to ensure everyone had a wonderful time. 2) Running on Waves sailing crew were top notch and moved in poetic rhythm when raising/lowering the sails as well as focused on everyone's safety when boarding and leaving the ship. 3) Each meal was thoughtfully prepared, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and delicious!

The staff were sooooo helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They were always happy and keen to make us happy. The on-off boarding was always safe and I felt very looked after by the sailors. This ship is like a diamond - everything was perfect and shiny!

Beautiful ship and outstanding service in one package

This ship is beautiful. Not only at the last program (photo safari) can one realize it, but along the way, every day. The food is just exceptional. But above all, the service is outstanding. Someone has already summarized it correctly: This trip is about the service. each and every crew member is smiling and helping any passenger to feel that the service is coming from their heart. This is true for the captain as well as the cleaning seamen. It was a lifetime experience travel.

Unforgettable cruise through the Cyclades!

Running on Waves was amazing! The destinations were truly breathtaking. I appreciated that they took us to some less visited islands, like Folegandros and Serifos. The crew were so friendly, informative and accommodating. Access to the tender (the motor boat launch) all day to go back and forth between ship and port at each island was a great feature and allowed for much flexibility. The ship itself is gorgeous and the cabins and common spaces are comfortable and nicely appointed. When the sails are up it's a breathtaking sight. Being a smaller vessel also allowed us to go into smaller harbors where the big cruise ships cannot go. Food was awesome and plentiful and meals were always relaxed and fun. The watersports platforms was nice to have, but there was so much to do on the islands that we didn't use it much, also some harbor areas did not allow it, but still a great resource. We had planned to dive on this trip, but due to the small number of divers on our cruise (only 4 in total), there was no diving from the ship and they had to organize custom trips with local dive guides. However, the two they chose were fantastic. The boarding and de-boarding processes were smooth and easy. Overall, my family and I had a fantastic time. It was a truly amazing experience!

Treated like royalty!!!!!!!!

So many highlights!!!! The crew interaction and hospitality, the sailing, the sites, going under the Rion-Antirion bridge, thru the Corinth Canal, Olympia, jumping off the boat, dingy rides to other islands, swimming in beach on Kefalonia, the amazing passengers we bonded with from different countries!!!! We highly recommend! We will be back again!

Relaxing, enjoyable finale to our holiday.

Highlights were Island visits independently from a sailing boat with not many people. HOWEVER, the information given by the Activities Officer was poor and not good enough. People had to continually ask questions to get necessary information for island visits, particularly for Mykonos, Kos and Santorini with regard to transport around islands. For example on Mykonos and Santorini there were very accessible €2 public buses instead of very expensive taxis which were in very short supply. On Kos there was a free return bus near the tender wharf to the ruins of Asklepieon. The Activities Officer was totally unaware of this and we had to find out by chance. There was also disorganisation with the programme of some activities onboard, eg engine room visit and rope knotting.

Great Experience, Every day brought something new and interesting

Not a highlight but the orientations for the various islands should have been more detailed. For example telling us where the taxi stand were and information about the local bus service. A simple map would have been elpful

Wonderful Sailing.

The sailing experience was outstanding. We loved the boat and the crew was very attentive. We loved swimming once anchored. The visits to the islands and ports were not interesting because we were not told about any highlights of places to visit or given guides to show us those places. We had to find the places to visit during our stops. A guide to direct us once we were at these islands or ports would greatly enhance the trip.

Beautiful boat with good memories but overall disapointed

Beautiful boat Spacious well equipped comfortable cabin (no. 3) First class food and restaurant service Good cabin stewards Excellent tender boat and crew Cons No sailing and this was the main reason for lchoosing this boat cruise Complete Change of itinerary due to weather No evening entertainment at all No information given regarding shore facilities ie busses, things to see and do etc. No alfresco dining, this service was not offered as indicated in brochure First day and night kept off shore only to be taken the next day to the other side of the island to anchor off off shore. At least we could have stayed in the same place and would have had the enjoyment of an evening of shore entertainment for two nights. Not introduced to captain until last night.

Stunning Ship

Stunning ship well maintained and all amenities catered for. Staff were very good throughout as was food. Service in all areas were good. Dissapointed with at least 2 stops and the lack of actuallly being in port along with itinerary changes was a bit of a pain. However some stops were stunning. Our trip to Olympia with tour guide was fantastic. I do feel that a detailed actual itinerary would be beneficial at the start oc cruise, i am aware however that there can be changes but we did have quite a few, which was frustrating. The swim stops were enjoyed by many so a plus there. Overnight port stops might be good and possibly less meals so that people can enjoy the local ambience and food on offer. Overall a lovely trip on a beautiful ship and yes we would definately do it again. Thank you to all staff,and crew.
